The Captain's Quarters
The Captain's Quarters sits on the Siltcoos River at the mouth of the lake. It was originally built in 1927 and has all the charm and character of country living. We recently remodeled the cottage throughout, keeping in mind, that it was important that we not take away from it's charm and uniqueness so with that the cottage was not modernized in it's outward aesthetics and during our remodeling stages we found that most of the home upstairs was built from lumber that was used to make large crates. The crates were used for the shipping materials to build a dam on the Columbia River in Idaho back in the 1930s. The Cottage has 3 cozy bedrooms and 2 full baths. It sleeps 6 adults and there's still room for the kids.
The kitchen is open and elegant and is all
newly remodeled and updated, but we kept
the cottage warmth and coziness with bead
board cabinets, polished granite counter tops,
all brushed stainless appliances and a beautiful
solid oak floor. It is completely furnished and
has everything you would possibly need to
create that perfect meal for you and your guests.
There is dinner service for 8, stove, dishwasher,
coffee maker, microwave oven,and refrigerator
with ice maker.

The dining nook off the kitchen is dressed with
plenty of windows to bring in the natural light, and
the french doors lead you onto the patio, where if
your passion is cooking outside you have a selection
of charcoal or gas Bar-B-Qs or an electric smoker.
You can sit and relax and visit with friends while you're waiting for the catch of the day to cook on the BBQ.
Dining Nook
Sit by the warmth of the wood stove and relax
with your favorite book, watch a movie on a 52: DLP
flat screen TV. You can play games and activities
with the kids. We have for you, an assortment of
movies, games and books just waiting, and yes the
wood for the fire is provided.

Rent a boat from Jackson's Marina
During the day there are so many things to do. Rent a boat, canoe or kayaks from Jackson's Marina an explore the 3 mile Siltcoos river as it slowly meanders through the forest to the ocean. The banks are lined with a large variety of indigenous plants, flowers, trees and wildlife. There are ducks, otters, seals, cranes, osprey and many birds, so you'll want to have your camera and binoculars ready at all times.
Go up river 300 yards to the mouth of Lake Siltcoos and play along the banks of the lake and islands. Bring your boat and tie it up at your own private dock. Spend your day fishing, water skiing, sailing, duck hunting, or just cruising the lake. At night Old Town Florence awaits with their quaint little shops and your choice of fine or casual restaurants and if you're feeling lucky there's always the Mill in Coo's Bay or Three Rivers Casino here in Florence.
